In Our Neighborhood

Get connected to Our Neighborhood

We are connected to our neighborhood in and around Columbia Heights. Following the example of Jesus, we believe in meeting the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of our neighbors. We love to eat together. We provide over 500 meals each week and take an active role in caring for our earth through organic composting and community gardening. We also mentor young people and host community forums where we discuss ways to be involved in our community.

Sunday Community Lunch: September - May. (After Labor Day - Memorial Day)

After School: Fall Tuesdays and Thursdays: 4 - 6 PM (Ages 5 - 16) Learn more here.

Community Garden: Plots available in the summer by request through Nathan Roberts nathanr@flcch.org

Stories from Our Neighborhood Series: One Wednesday a month (see below)

There has been a disturbing rise in white Christian nationalist groups in the northern suburbs of Minneapolis. Including a recent flyer sent to Columbia Heights residents that was enlisting people to join a white supremacist group. In response to these racist groups, Stories from our Neighborhood will be hosting a storytelling night around we can safeguard our community from white Christian nationalist groups like the KKK and the Proud Boys.
Rev. Angela Denker is an award-winning author, ELCA Lutheran pastor, and veteran journalist who has a column in the Minnesota Star Tribune. You can read more from Angela on her Substack: https://angeladenker.substack.com.
Please join us to learn what we can do as individuals, groups, and neighbors to keep our city safe and welcoming for everyone.
