Matthew 13:45-46

Two verses! A sermon on only two verses? This is one of the very short stories of Jesus, and one which he never interpreted for his followers. Pastor Bonnie Wilcox asks,
Is this man wise, or foolish? He sells everything he has, likely to include his home, his furnishings, and all the clothing, in order to buy the most precious pearl he’s ever seen. But what does it mean?

“Again, the kingdom of heaven is like a merchant in search of fine pearls; on finding one pearl of great value, he went and sold all that he had and bought it.
